Avaya (NYSE:AVYA) today announced that Miles Davis has been appointed Channel Leader for Southeast Asia, Pacific and Japan. Davis has been tasked with driving Avaya’s channel strategy and partnerships across the region, including supporting its community to deliver on the promise of cloud, hybrid work, digital collaboration strategies and customer service transformations to business – all within the newly-launched Avaya Edge Partner Program for 2022.
Davis brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in channel, front line and solution sales leadership. He began his journey in 2000 with Nortel in Sydney, where he managed the ANZ distribution business. In 2005, Davis migrated to Canada, where he led the channel partner business and played an integral part in the organisation’s evolution to Avaya.
Over his career, Davis has worked in regional sales leadership through to the wider mandate of managing mid-market sales for the Americas International theatre, a remit that involved growing Avaya’s profile in Central America/Latin America (CALA) and Canada. He was also involved in the launch of Avaya Cloud Office, Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) and the Avaya subscription service to new and existing channel partners across the region.
Under Davis’ leadership, the APJ channel team will focus on nurturing and expanding channel partner relationships in government, banking, financial services and education, and on assisting partners with navigating cloud-based systems to unlock new capabilities and revenue streams. Additionally, the team will continue providing non-traditional IT channel partners, including those focused on retail, networking, cyber-security and healthcare, yet looking for an entry point into the communications space as they undergo their own digital transformations.
