Evaluation – Polycom Trio for Microsoft Teams (Video)

Hands-on testing of a pre-release version of Trio designed for use with Microsoft Teams.

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in San Jose, California, Polycom (acquired by Plantronics in 2018) develops, manufactures, and markets video, voice, and content collaboration and communication products and services.

Today, Polycom offers a broad range of video endpoints and infrastructure solutions, many of which offer native support for Microsoft Skype for Business.

In October 2015, Polycom announced the RealPresence Trio 8800 – a multi-function conferencing device intended for use in small, medium, and large meeting rooms.  A few months later, Polycom released the Trio 8500 – a lower price version of the Trio solution intended for use in small and medium meeting rooms.

In July 2018, Polycom commissioned the Recon Research (RR) team to perform a third-party assessment of a pre-release version of Trio software designed specifically for Microsoft’s recently released chat-based workplace service – Microsoft Teams.
