FCC List Names Equipment Providers Other Than Huawei as a National Security Threat

Certain communications equipment and services from Huawei Technologies Co., ZTE Corp., Hytera Communications Corp., Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. and Dahua Technology Co. are now on a list of products that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has determined to be a national security threat.

The FCC’s determination is based on the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019, which requires the regulator to publish and maintain a list of communications equipment and services that pose an unacceptable risk to national security or the security and safety of U.S. persons.
