Plantronics Reportedly Exploring Sale After $2B Polycom Acquisition

“Nothing is impossible, but consider this.  First, in April 2016, Mitel announced its intention to acquire Polycom.  This deal fell through.  Then, in September 2016, Polycom was sold to Siris Capital and taken private.  And just 4 months ago, Polycom was acquired by Plantronics.  Quite a ride for Polycom and its employees.  My guess is that a few months of NOT being acquired or almost acquired would do these folks some good.” – Ira

Plantronics is reportedly considering a sale of the company, among other options, following its $2 billion acquisition of unified communications player Polycom in July.

The Thursday report came from Reuters, which cited people familiar with the matter. The news outlet’s sources said it’s uncertain if current discussions would result in an actual sale of the company, which declined to comment to Reuters.
