Our Thoughts and Commentary
We appreciate Nureva’s “hang-and-bang” approach to large space audio.
While most industry vendors have jumped on the video bar bandwagon, Nureva tacked a different problem — how to easily and cost-effectively offer good quality audio in larger spaces. Despite ongoing pressure from the AV / VC industry (and our analysts) to jam cameras into their audio bars, Nureva stuck to its “audio-only” focus. Now that vision (or stubbornness) is paying off.
MadisonAV is a medium-sized AV distributor serving channel partners in Australia and New Zealand. Key vendors within MadisonAV’s portfolio, include several of the Harman brands (AKG, AMX, BSS, Crown, dbx, JBL, etc.), Audinate, HuddleCamHD, NETGEAR, and Yealink.
Inking a partnership with MadisonAV is certainly good news for Nureva, but it’s one of many recent announcements. For example:
- Nureva’s HDL310 and HDL410 systems recently earned certification as pro audio devices for larger Zoom Rooms.
- Nureva appointed FVC as its distributor through the Middle East
- Nureva appointed Videnda as an authorized distributor in Ireland
- Nureva released a companion app for the HDL pro series systems
- Nureva was granted three new patents for its Microphone Mist technology
- Nureva entered into partnerships with MAXHUB and Q-SYS
- Etc. Etc. Etc.
In some ways, Nureva is the “un-cola” of the pro-audio world. Traditionally, those needing good microphone coverage in medium and large spaces had to install or place mics on the table or install mics in the ceiling. To be clear, these approaches work quite well. However, they can be costly, and must be installed (integrated) in the meeting room. Nureva’s devices simply hang on the meeting room wall. If you can hang a picture frame, you can install an HDL system.
Nureva’s primary challenge is generating awareness. Customers don’t know or don’t believe that an audio bar that hangs on a wall can cover their needs. Unfortunately, educating an entire market takes time and money; two resources in short supply at most small companies.
Nureva is doing the right things … one step at a time.
