Founded in January of 2001, Canada-based Mitel is a leading provider of business communication solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. As of the end of 2017, the company claimed to have 70 million end-users across ~ 100 countries, including more than one (1) million cloud-based unified communications as a service (UCaaS) subscribers.
The company’s revenues come from three areas:
- Enterprise products
- Enterprise services
- Cloud
Mitel offers a broad range of customer premises (CPE / on-site) unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) solutions. For the most part, these offerings are centered around voice platforms / PBXs and associated services. Revenues from these areas are reported as Mitel’s Enterprise segment. This portfolio also includes virtualized, cloud-enabled and software-based capabilities and desktop and mobile applications.
The Cloud segment offers businesses of all sizes a full range of private, public, hybrid and mobile Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. The company’s cloud portfolio includes contact center and UCaaS solutions that enable businesses to pay for their communications services on a monthly subscription basis.
